Support for Social Housing in Portugal

Cadaval is investing €1.6 million in social housing to assist families living in challenging conditions.

The Cadaval City Council is investing €1.6 million in fully funded projects from the Recovery and Resilience Plan to increase affordable housing availability in the municipality. During the latest council meeting, the municipal executive approved the construction of a six-unit building on Rua 13 de Janeiro.

This initiative follows a diagnosis that revealed 27 families living in inadequate conditions in their own homes and another 19 families in borrowed or rented properties. José Bernardo Nunes informed the Lusa News Agency that this housing initiative is a key focus of the current mandate and aims to support families living in unhealthy conditions.

In addition to having three "practically ready" homes in Peral, Vermelha, and Martim Joanes valued at €472,000, the municipality in the Lisbon district has completed architectural plans for six more homes across various parishes. They are also actively seeking land to purchase for the construction of an additional six homes.
